Hey Fletch … How do you treat administrative assistants?

DRF—Sometimes email is remarkably incomplete. There must be a huge story behind your question. Let me share a couple of thoughts about this broad topic.

  • All staff members are vital on the team. Whether they be a facility worker, administrative assistant or key pastor, each person needs to carry the vision and vibe of the church.

  • Empower administrative assistants to do their job. Get their input when giving assignments; assistants often know more of the tactical details of ministry than some pastors.
  • Listen to them. 
  • When you get their buy-in and motivation, a good assistant will take your ministry to the next level. 

A team moves at the speed of the leader. When you cast a compelling vision, people are driven to accomplish it.
