Introducing The Middle Way

The Middle Way is an ancient paradigm that has powerful modern-day applications. Aristotle asserted that the Middle Way was, Where human beings are the happiest.

Where Human Beings are the Happiest

The Middle Way process taps into an ancient system of developing emotional intelligence and executive presence using a very practical approach. The Middle Way operationalizes the concepts to facilitate clean organizational cultures (work, home, church, etc.), by teaching and developing behavioral integrity.

Where Organizations are the Healthiest

While the Middle Way insights aren’t new, they are powerful when installed in an organization. These insights were perpetuated by early church pastors up to and including the Reformation, namely, John Chrysostom, Basil the Great, Gregory of Nyssa, Gregory Palamas and John Wesley of the Protestant Reformation, to name a few.

Stress Behavior

When individuals and teams are running fast with little margin, the temptation is to respond to others and circumstances from a place of stress: either from a deficiency or an excess. This workshop teaches practical behavior norms for staying in the middle.

Here are a few examples:

When dealing with issues of control: Deficiency: Abdicate. Excess: Manipulate. Middle Way: Influence

When working through conflict: Deficient response: Passive. Excessive response: Aggressive. Middle Way: Assertive

When communicating feelings: Deficient response: Disguise them. Excessive response: Demonstrating them. Middle Way: Describing them

When navigating difficult conversations: Deficient response: Removed. Excessive response: Enraged. Middle Way: Engaged

The Art of Culture Workshop uses table exercises and tailored content to create an experience that most people will not forget. We also discuss overall team dynamics and the impact of Family of Origin to uncover many of the problems teams face these days due to differences in individual orientation.

The Art of Culture Workshop is one in a series of workshops designed to contextualize team-based circumstances to provide a practical approach and a way to be. Additional other workshops include The Art of Conflict, as well as The Art of Delegation.
