About Gene Getz

After 20 years in the academic world, Gene became involved in church planting and, in 1972, launched the Fellowship Bible Church movement. Today, some 30,000 people worship in approximately 12 churches in the Dallas area alone and hundreds of Fellowship churches throughout the United States trace their roots back to Gene’s church planting efforts. Gene is a prolific author. Most of his 60 books have grown out of his experience as a pastor. “The Measure of a Man” has become a classic and is used around the world for personal and group study. Gene serves as President of the Center for Church Renewal. Unexpectedly, he was invited to do the "Life Essentials Study Bible" which contains 1500 “Principles to Live By” that are embedded in the biblical text from Genesis to Revelation. In addition, there is a QR code with each principle enabling the reader to view 1500 videos as Gene teaches each principle. Consequently, it is the first multi-media Study Bible and is now being used worldwide. In addition, Gene has completed a "Men of Character Study Bible" which contains approximately 125 articles and profiles featuring men of the Bible.
