Scott L. Thumma is Professor of Sociology of Religion and D.Min. Director at Hartford Seminary and director of the Hartford Institute for Religion Research. He has published hundreds of articles, research reports and co-authored three books. With Warren Bird, Scott has done 6 national studies of megachurches and a 50,000 person survey of megachurch attenders.

Warren Bird is an award-winning writer and researcher. His background includes pastoring and seminary teaching, and a 13-year run as research director at Leadership Network. Warren has authored or co-authored 30 books. Warren is a graduate of Wheaton College (BA, MA), Alliance Theological Seminary (M.Div.) and Fordham University (Ph.D.).
