We’re calling 2021 “The Great COVID Churn.” Because of the exhaustion, burnout, and uncertainty people have experienced over the last 12 months, Churches are seeing an enormous increase in turnover and hundreds of pastors are retiring years before they planned.

As we work on the front-lines with Churches, non-profits, and Christian Organizations discussing the major shifts in their thinking, two trends stand out. The first is that it’s clear succession planning is more critical than ever for ministry success. Second is that the skills and roles organizations need post-COVID are shifting toward agility and technology like never before.
