Effective relationships with the Senior Pastor and Board are pivotal for your career and your church. To succeed you must know your strengths. What kind of XP are you and why does the church need  you? Compare your strengths to those of the SP and Board. Share ministry data to keep them informed but not swamped. Hone relationships in time appropriate ways. Implement the Senior Pastor’s vision and help the Board be most effective. Be cognizant of potential problems. With careful cultivation, you can have extraordinary rapport.

Key Questions to Ask the Senior Pastor and Board

What do you need from me? How can I best serve you? What level of information do you want? What level of information do you need? What do I do that bugs you? When should I shut up and listen? When should I stop listening and take charge?
