The Best Place in Life Is Not Being on a Church Staff
DRF—How can you say that? I was on a church staff for 35 years! Pastors often think that the only place that they can work is within the church walls. It makes sense because they have often trained and gotten extensive education in pastoral work. However, good ministry and service to others can happen in many other environments. Business people who are Christ-followers are living out their faith everyday in the marketplace and personal ministry.
We need pastors. Even better, we need pastors whom God has called to serve in their churches. If God is leading you to something else, it is not the end of ministry. Your following Jesus is not dependent on where you get a paycheck or where you work.
The answer is found in a related saying: The best place in live is to be where God wants you to be.
