Join a lively discussion that tries to make sense of why evangelical churches and Christ-centered nonprofits are expressing so much optimism about their financial future. Learn who is most optimistic—and also who is most pessimistic.

Our guest is Dr. Warren Bird, lead researcher for the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, which most know as ECFA. The author or co-author of 33 books for church leaders, and former research director for Leadership Network, his latest research report is titled “Optimism Outweighs Pessimism,” free download at ECFA.church/surveys. I too have been monitoring the pandemic’s impact on churches, and we’ll push each other as we chat, and maybe even butt heads a bit.

The Christianity Today article on Warren’s research report explains a bit of the shift: “When the US economy shut down in March due to COVID-19, financial predictions for churches and other ministries were dire. But a new survey suggests those predictions may have been overblown. Most evangelical churches and ministries saw giving remain steady or grow during the height of stay-at-home restrictions, according to a survey of more than 1,300 Christian ministries released last week by ECFA.” Other research, such as a recent survey of large nonprofits by Independent Sectors, shows the evangelical world to be in much shape.

By attending this webinar, you’ll find out more of the “why” – and you’ll have more insight to lead your own church as a result.
