They have an incredibly healthy team and are looking for a strong Executive Pastor to join the staff—an incredible opportunity to lead out with the current Lead and Executive Pastors on this three-person leadership team.

Position Title: Executive Pastor
Location: Austin, Texas
Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
Job Description/Duties
- Lead pastoral staff
- Serve with the Lead Pastor and the other Executive Pastor in a “triangular” leadership model
- Equip, recruit, and train strong leaders
- Commit to the vision and become creatively involved in its development
- Communicate the overall vision, goals and strategy of the church to staff and membership
- Give vital feedback to senior pastor on rate and speed of implementation of the vision, required resources, etc.
- Work with and lead all pastoral staff (Students, Childrens, Equipping, Outreach, Groups, Worship (with Lead Pastor)
- Develop and enhance the current staff—getting the very most out of their gifts and abilities
- Make sure current staff are in the right seat/position
- Set specific, measurable goals with the staff and manage the feedback loop to insure that goals are being achieved
- Conduct staff evaluations
- Streamline and define communication and authority paths on the staff that maximize personal creativity while minimizing bureaucracy
- Strategically lead the church/staff from where they are now to the next level
- Involved in such a way to be aware of what is working and what isn’t—then taking appropriate action
- Conduct formal search process in hiring staff and also the formal procedure in dismissing or repositioning of staff
- Quickly reposition or dismissing staff when necessary
- Plan, schedule and coordinate large group meetings, retreats, camps, etc.
- Actively lead out in the multi-site initiative
- Handle personnel conflicts and troubleshoot programming problems
- Supervise the adult ministry administrator who is responsible for implementing the ongoing programs in adult ministry
- Lead management team meetings by creating agendas and facilitating their completion
Required Experience/Skills
- At least 5 years pastoral staff experience in a church of at least 1,000 in weekly attendance
- At least 2 years of successful management of paid, pastoral staff
- Entrepreneurial leadership

- Multi-site experience preferred
