Pastor of Youth Ministries – Billings, Montana

Faith Evangelical Church of Billings, Montana, is seeking to fill the position of Pastor of Youth Ministries. Faith E. is a church with a weekly attendance of 850 with a Jr. and Sr. High youth weekly attendance of between 60-100. The Pastor of Youth Ministries is responsible for providing the vision, leadership and direction for the youth ministries program and equipping, ministering and giving guidance to the youth and their families.

Personal Qualifications

Minimum Bachelors Degree in youth-related ministries curriculum; minimum two years proven successful experience as a youth pastor; demonstrated supervisory skills of volunteers and interns; ability to develop curriculum for students; ability to organize and lead missions teams; ability to organize and lead summer camping ministry.

Works With

Student Ministries Intern, volunteers, senior pastoral staff, and families of students.

Reporting Structure

Supervises Student Ministries Intern(s), Student Ministries Administrative Assistant, Volunteer staff, small group leaders. Reports to the Associate/Executive Pastor.

Working Schedule

Exempt full-time salaried position. 5 ½ days per week; 45-50 hours per week.

Ministry Responsibilities

Sunday Responsibilities

  1. Oversee Sunday morning Bible In Life student discipleship ministry
  2. Develop a discipleship intensive curriculum and sequence
  3. Train and equip teachers to lead discipleship classes
  4. Teach when necessary and/or when requested to do so

Midweek Responsibilities

  1. Oversee Tuesday and Wednesday night student ministry programs
  2. Organize and train a team of volunteer small group leaders
  3. Develop curriculum to excite students in their faith and reach the unchurched
  4. Teach when necessary and/or when requested to do so

Leadership Development

  1. Staff meeting with Interns
  2. Encourage and communicate with volunteer staff
  3. Develop and meet with core/leadership level students for equipping and encouraging

Contact Work

  1. Lunches on school campuses
  2. Meet with students one-on-one
  3. School activities

Monthly/Quarterly Activities

  1. Organize and lead retreats and outreach events
  2. Organize Parent Seminars to equip and encourage parents of adolescents
  3. Participate in volunteer staff meetings and development retreats
  4. Communicate with parents, students, and volunteers via email, website, postcards, letters, and calendars
  5. Proficient in Church Community Builder (CCB) software (church database) including daily login, develop ministry groups for volunteers/leaders, utilize email communication and scheduling with group members, create calendar events with resources to be published church-wide or publically, enter attendance for ministry events and submit monthly attendance reports to administrator, and assist with student check-in system for new attenders

Summer Activities

  1. Organize and lead summer mission’s teams
  2. Organize and participate in the camping ministry at Beartooth Christian Camp
  3. Recruit and develop volunteer leaders for summer ministries

Ministerial Duties

  1. Weekly staff meetings
  2. Available for needed help with worship services (announcements, teaching, greeting, etc.)

Conference Duties

Involvement with Conference Board of Student Ministries

Church Organizational Responsibilities

  1. Engage in regular supervision with your supervisor
  2. Fully support and live out Faith Evangelical Church’s Mission, Vision and Value statements
  3. Deal helpfully and constructively with all other staff members, lay leaders and volunteers within the Faith Evangelical Church body
  4. Represent Faith Evangelical Church in a Christ-like manner in our community
