"Things I loved, that connected with me"

  • Non-profit legal connection was great.
  • The 4-types of leaders from SP perspective was a take away.
  • Thanks again for your work on this.  Great resource!  Always appreciate it!
  • It struck me that as XP-s we were very quick to offer recommendations or criticize some decisions made in the case study.  As XPs, we are judged quickly by our congregation and elders but many times they do not have enough information to do that!  We did it to you in the case study.  Just struck me as funny.
  • Tuesday night was a good format!  Helped us connect right away!
  • Great offering of materials.  Thanks for the offering of free materials (XPastor and books).
  • Topics were relevant to where I am at both personally and professionally.
  • Multi-site vs. church planting
  • Leading from the pulpit
  • Developing a worship culture
  • Interaction with other XPs
  • Practical teaching
  • Lots of choices; no time wasted
  • Case study discussion
  • Networking
  • Leadership development
  • Legal discussion
  • Paul Sartarelli’s keynote session:  Leading from the pulpit. Paul’s plenary session—excellent!
  • Principles from the case study
  • The audience
  • Location
  • Flow
  • The discussion/Q&A in Dan Reiland’s workshop. Dan Reiland’s map!
  • The free books! Thank you very much!
  • Dialogue with David and Paul
  • Table talk conversation
  • Listening to XPs talk about SPs
  • Tight schedule and only two days
  • Conference was hosted at a hotel where I also stayed and local restaurants
  • Detailed account of a merger
  • Hearing Paul and David speak together
  • Paul’s breakout session on “Having a Great XP”
  • David Middlebrook’s “big idea” of who owns what.
  • Stories—real-life scenarios that I could glean principles from
  • Small break-out sessions to get to know others
  • Awareness to different services available to churches (specific legal help, services, etc.)
  • Very positive, encouraging learning environment. Very informative
  • Round table discussion
  • Senior Pastor/XP discussion Q&A
  • Personal chat with David on an issue (big help)
  • Workshop on 5 Functions of an XP (an interactive dialogue)
  • The case study and the informal dialogue during and after
  • Mergers and acquisitions was very timely for me
  • Tim Beltz also timely and great insight for shaping our vision
  • Excellent, challenging case study. Loved the case study
  • Enjoyed the diversity in topic and real life experience
  • Passion for the position
  • Knowledge and strategy for staff
  • Details of communication
  • Extremely relevant throughout
  • Connected with two colleagues on issues I can immediately apply to my church setting

"Things I would like
to change"

  • More discussion and interaction
  • Would be great to be able to go to more sessions
  • Suggestion:  The church name and city are too small on the nametags.  Please make it easier to see that info.
  • Years ago you separate us by church size, geography, etc.  Now we are going as team members.  If you could split up the table seating “just a little,” it could help us in our networking.  I got what I needed but it took a little more work to find out if the XP I was talking to was experienced or not.
  • Give us a chance to organize dinner plans as a part of the schedule
  • Even more specifics of application from the case study
  • Can’t think of anything—great day
  • More Q&A after key speakers
  • Possibly offering most popular sessions twice, during both breakout times
  • Would have made Middlebrook a breakout session
  • More “general” keynote sessions instead of specific topoics such as the merger/acquisition time given a full morning essentially
  • Topical round tables would be interesting
  • The case discussion was interesting but simply couldn’t make time to read prior with limited my participation
  • More workshops
  • Only change I would structurally make deals with giving directions to attendees more in-depth on when, where, what to expect, about schedule, directions, layout of meeting rooms, etc.  Again, all is great but these are little things that would help the overall picture.

"More Things I loved"

  • Realizing I’m involved with people with like struggles, issues and ramifications – nobody is better than another.
