XPastor Evaluations

XP-Seminar 2010

"Things I loved, that connected with me"

  • Scott’s message was worth the price of admission alone!
  • Dialogue with SPs & XPs – connection, chemistry, balance
  • SP/XP relationships
  • Keynote by pastor of church in case study
  • Group discussion at the table
  • Talk from The Chapel’s Senior Pastor (Scott Chapman)!
  • Liked Scott Chapman’s comment that we banked on the fact that God’s ability to success is greater than our ability to fail.
  • Question Zero exercise and case study
  •  Small Table discussions
  • Plenary session interviews and Steve’s talk
  • Connecting/networking with other XPs
  • Unstoppable church
  • Multi-site information
  • Bob Feitl’s sessions!  Practical information I can take home.  Great dialogue!
  • Openness of long term XPs
  • Relevance of focus
  • Lunch discussion with two teams of SPs & XPs
  • Great books offered
  • Friendships new and renewed
  • The SP/XP discussions were great (wish it could have lasted longer)
  • First time attending, enjoyed fellowshipping and sharing with those in the same job position as myself
  • The relaxed, fun, open style of David Fletcher.  The openness makes it okay and even a good thing to disagree with a presenter or with each other is very healthy.
  • The presenters I saw were authentic, real and inclusive
  • I liked the push from David for “actionables.”
  • I loved the theologically diverse group
  • Praying for the speakers
  • Real case studies
  •  Learning style—focus on great content
  • Vision
  • Information atmosphere
  • I like to hear about strategies that drove success
  • Structure
  • Warren Bird
  • The schedule is at a great pace!
  • Overall format was great!
  • Multi-site not a growth strategy, a health strategy
  • Relationships
  • The table talk
  • The setting, hotel staff, refreshments were excellent
  • The camaraderie with other like-minded men
  • Very well organized and time conscious
  • Lots of specific resources and practical ideas.
  • Super sponsors—excellent resources
  • Opportunity to speak openly about troubles/challenges
  • Fellowship with like-minded people

"Things I would like
to change"

  • Question Zero—would have liked to develop further
  • More time to network with each other and ask questions
  • Not much needed to change—good experience
  • More time in table discussions
  • It would be helpful to organize some table discussion based on church size
  • Need handouts
  • Breaks were a bit short
  • Would love to have spent more time with the case study.  Not enough time to really “go deep” and evaluate with table group.
  • Three workshops?  Ability to attend more
  • Might be a good idea to expand XP to include AP (Associate Pastor) = XP/AP Conference
  • Would it be possible to gather people together from geographical areas?
  • Let’s have some illustrations of spectacular failures and what can be learned from these.
  • Add another day of workshops (even if optional)
  • Define tracks through the workshops
  • More time for legal issues
  • More time for staff issues
  • Show a video from Andy Stanley on “Vision”—Making vision stick

"More Things I loved"

  • I totally enjoyed my two days here and was able to get great information—thanks for the invite!
  • It’s okay to fail.  If you do not fail, you are not on the edge
  • Case Study interaction—especially hearing current outcome
  • “Dealing with Strong Leaders” was awesome!  Invaluable!
  • Continually meeting and getting to know new people
  • Lunch options—chance to break out  or hang out!
  • Early ending on Thursday
  • Seven Final Thoughts by David Fletcher
  • Real and deep conversation
  • Lots of humor
  • Openness
