"Things I loved"
- Atmosphere-like-minded, like-challenged people
- Large group discussions
- Realizing that churches the same size as ours are in similar transitions
- Networking-getting ideas from others
- The more informal breakout sessions
- Hearing the variety of leadership styles and issues
- Real people talking about real issues
- Gift books in back are great
- Opportunity for informal discussion at dinner and at breaks
- There were so many diverse backgrounds
- Every session is planned with intention and excellence
- The involvement of a variety of people to pray and encourage the participants
- The mealtime discussions were invaluable
- Willingness to share extra material via website following conference
- The collegial culture
- Talk around the table with senior pastors - hammering at these same roles, issues
- The case study-and more specifically the discussions that result, are fantastic
- Great to hear XPs and SPs
- Feeling like I am not alone-seeing so many others in my role was energizing
- Pace-fast and excellent
- Seeing myself (weaknesses, strengths, situation) in the different stories
- This is my first time to talk, interact with, or learn from other XP's. This is great
- The case studies were surprisingly good-they touched my heart as well as my head
- Fellowship with other XPs-showed me that I'm not crazy

"My Comments"
- Thanks for your great work in putting it all together and leading the effort. It was valuable time well spent. We are heading toward hiring an XP for the first time
- Enjoyed our time together. Beneficial to hear thoughts and experiences of others. I'm new to the XP role
- I would be interested in how XPs with pastoral background feel about business XPs. What can be done to bring the best of each background together? What would be the benefit? I think very positive
- I'm intrigued by how coaching would impact staff and lay leadership. Thanks for the excellent work in this helpful seminar
- Around my table there seemed to be a lot of interest in discussion of letting go of "C" performing staff. Perhaps a case study on this in the future would be helpful.
- Need an evaluative tool (s) for the XP and SP
- David and team-thanks again for resourcing, educating, and connecting us to more effectively impact God's Kingdom
- Thanks for the effort. Networking and connections and website are very helpful
- I would be interested in the five-year vision of the XP
- I credit XPastor.org with being a key driver in my moving into my current position
- This whole experience was a great reality check for where my church is. I was concerned as one of the only women here whether I might offend or be less than welcome, but everyone was extremely gracious and welcoming.
- The ecumenical denominational learning about different churches was wonderful too. The best part is the networking
- I look forward to next year!
"Things I Would Change"
- Offer mentoring-XP guys that would mentor young XP's
- Please record breakouts and post online in MP3 format for downloading
- Have a panel of XPs and Senior Pastors field questions from the audience on a wide range of issues
- Expand to a 3-day conference
