6 month evaluation by Purpose Teams which report back in writing to staff. The staff will review and discuss in advance of Dave’s personal planning week. Summaries are shared with the elders.
July
Early in July Dave takes a week’s leave to develop and focus his plan for the coming year. This is written down clearly and succinctly. A guest preacher is utilized.
- Dave takes the following week to share this with the pastors and elders for their interaction and input.
- Afterward, a clarified written vision is presented to the full ministry staff for discussion and questions.
- Next, the ministry staff are given a week to individually engage in long-term planning.
August
Staff refines ministry goals with purpose teams and full staff then elders
First Weekend in October
Elders/Staff Review Ministry Goals
January
Year-long evaluation (combined with the June 6 month evaluation) by purpose teams then full staff then Elders. Sermon series to “unveil” direction
Two Weekends in January
Ministry Teams present plans to internal leadership to include (but not be limited to) purpose teams, ministry teams, volunteers, lay leadership. The emphasis is on each area knowing what the others are doing and having an opportunity to interact with it.
