Rodney Lara

Rodney is the Senior Pastor of Judson Baptist Church of Oak Park, Illinlois. "Judson is a very unique church body where people of different races and experiences have intentionally come together to worship and serve the body of Jesus Christ in the Oak Park/Austin communities. We are on a journey, a journey on which every person is passionately, wholeheartedly, and recklessly pursuing full devotion to Christ."

Formerly, he served as the Family Minister at Northwest Bible Church for seven years. He has been married for twenty years to Billie and they have three girls—Leah, Rachel & Amber.

Rodney was graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Business. He was commissioned as a Captain in the United States Army where he served on national and international active duty for seven years. He received a Masters of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.

At Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church, Rodney served as the Children's Church Director and helped start the AWANA and New Member assimilation programs.

At Northwest Bible Church, he was a part of the Core Vision Team, supporting the Senior Pastor in vision implementation for the church and Family Ministry. As Minister of Family, Rodney oversaw forty paid staff at Northwest, including the Minister of Early Childhood Education, Minister of Elementary Education, Minister of Wednesday Clubs, Jr. High Minister, Sr. High Minister, interns, teachers in the weekday Learning Center and teachers in the Mother's Day Out. He also oversees over 400 volunteers in the Family Ministry.

Rodney has been a frequent guest preacher at many churches in Texas.
