Brian is the Lead Community Pastor/Executive Pastor at Harris Creek Baptist Church of McGregor, Texas. The church hired Brian to help co-lead this rapidly growing church. Since Brady Herbert came as their Lead Teaching Pastor, Harris Creek has grown from 160 to 1,200 people in just one year. They have enjoyed working in a team approach as they have navigated the challenges of adding two extra services and going multisite.
After graduating from college, Brian worked at Procter & Gamble. While P&G is not the typical feeder system into ministry, Brian feels that God used that time to prepare him. Brian says, “At Dallas Theological Seminary, I learned a lot about the Bible; at P&G, I learned how to lead and empower people.”
Empowering people to use their God-given spiritual gifts has become a passion for him. Brian is writing his doctoral dissertation on Recruiting, Equipping, and Retaining Volunteers in the Local Church. It is his wife’s passion that he finishes the degree so he can help change more diapers!
Brian and his wife, Wren, have been married for eleven years and have three children, Braden, Eli and Grace.
Wren was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer this past year while she was pregnant with Grace. Brian is trying to find the balance between taking care of her and their three young children while pastoring a growing church at the same time.
